Through our SAS: Support and Signpost initiative, Vale Domestic Abuse Services is proud to be launching its first ever ‘Ask Me’ Ambassador Training in the Vale of Glamorgan.

This specialist programme is designed to give local people the knowledge, confidence and practical tools to recognise domestic abuse, respond safely, and show visible solidarity with survivors — helping them feel believed, supported and able to access help.

This training is about real societal change. When more of us understand what domestic abuse is, know what to look for and how to respond appropriately, we reduce the spaces where abuse can hide — and create safer communities for everyone.

Last year alone, Vale Domestic Abuse Services supported over 1,500 women and children who had experienced domestic abuse. Yet we know many more across the Vale are still suffering in silence.

That’s why we are calling on people from across the Vale of Glamorgan — men and women, local business owners, community group members and those who live or work in our communities — to take part in this specialist training and help us shut down the spaces where domestic abuse continues to thrive.

Training details:
Format: Run over two concurrent half-day sessions
Dates: 2nd & 3rd February
Time: 9:30am – 1:30pm
Location: Online (links provided upon registration)

What you’ll receive when you complete the training:
✔️ A certificate of completion
✔️ A practical resource pack for use in your workplace or community
✔️ Access to the Ask Me network, connecting you with others across the Vale for peer support, shared learning and ongoing guidance

By completing the training, you’ll also become part of a growing network of Community Ambassadors for Vale DAS, helping to build safer towns and villages where survivors know they are not alone.
