Vale Domestic Abuse Services Achieves Prestigious National Accreditation

Vale Domestic Abuse Services (VDAS) is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Welsh Women’s Aid National Quality Service Standards (NQSS) accreditation, a mark of excellence achieved by only a handful of frontline domestic abuse services across Wales.

The NQSS recognises organisations that deliver high-quality, needs-led, and gender-responsive support to survivors of domestic abuse. VDAS was awarded the accreditation following a rigorous assessment, with assessors praising the organisation’s “outstanding” self-assessment and clear commitment to delivering exceptional services.

This recognition makes VDAS the only accredited, specialist domestic abuse service in the Vale of Glamorgan, a milestone that reflects its dedication to empowering survivors and raising the standard of care across the region.

“We are incredibly proud to have received this accreditation,” said Vicky Friis, CEO of Vale Domestic Abuse Services. “This is a testament to the dedication of our team and the strength of the survivors we support. As the only accredited service of our kind in the Vale, we remain committed to providing the highest quality support to those impacted by domestic abuse and violence.”

Kate Perry-Jones, Head of Membership Services and Engagement at Welsh Women’s Aid, said

“We are absolutely delighted to see Vale DAS achieve this accreditation in recognition of the high quality services they deliver for survivors of Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence. Their accreditation also includes achieving the Information and Advice Quality Framework (IAQF Wales) standard which continues to seek to provide a consistent approach to ensuring and assuring quality information, advice and guidance for the people of Wales and we are extremely pleased to join Vale DAS in celebrating the excellence that they have demonstrated to be awarded both quality marks.”

The accreditation is valid until June 2028, subject to the implementation of a number of agreed development actions, which VDAS has already committed to addressing.
